"Great is the art of beginning,
but greater is the art of ending.
- Lazarus Long
This quote reflects my feelings towards winters end as well putting the final strokes on a paintings. With spring comes so many new events. Waterhouse Gallery will host a show called "Interiors" in March. In April the Greenhouse Gallery will host the Salon International and Copley Society is gearing up for it's annual Fresh Paint event. And lastly, Addison Gallery on Cape Cod is getting ready for a busy season with many exciting openings throughout spring and summer. I hope to see you soon and thank you for your continued support throughout the year!

Clayton Beck Portrait Demo
The John Kilroy Fine Art School hosted Clayton's visit for a portrait demo last month. Clayton offered plenty of insights on his technique and the fundamentals of painting. The model was a stunning red head whom I've had the pleasure of painting a number of times. The finished work was offered for purchase and guess who had the honor of taking it home... me!

Third Place Winner
Portrait Society of America

"Dalena At the Window" was my first entry in the Members Showcase Competition. The unprecedented number of entries received and the quality of the work this year made it a particularly enjoyable challenge for the judges. International Artist Magazine will feature this painting in the May issue of the Masters Showcase. Reviews & Notes
Harvard Club Soiree...
You were the perfect artist - grace under pressure - to represent Co/So at NABB Uncorked! last night. Your ability to complete such a gorgeous painting in 2 1/2 hours while also chatting with interested guests was really amazing. Thanks again, Carolyn Vandam, Copley Society

Salon Night...
I was invited to demo at the home of a client in Boston's historic Beacon Hill for a fundraising event. "Dear Eli, your generosity & great talent is so much appreciated. I hope your ears have been buzzing - you and your painting of Sarah were a big hit. Many, many thanks for being part of our COG Salon. Fondly, Linda Herman".
